ABOUT RUSUDAN KHIZANISHVILI
Rusudan Khizanishvili is a painter living and working in Tbilisi, Georgia. She was born in 1979 and received her B.A. in Painting from J.Nikoladze College of Art. Graduating with a painting degree from the Tbilisi state Academy of Art, Rusudan went on to complete an MA in Media in 2005. With influences drawn from great artists such as Gauguin and Cezanne, Khizanishvili's work visibly acknowledges the history of painting and the paintings of the great masters. Her confident use of colour, combined with a palpable and often sensuous handling of oil paint demonstrates a maturity beyond her years. She is often invited in different festivals and art residencies, most importantly from Mark Rothko's residence. She recently participated in a large group exhibition of Georgian artists, Artist Book, which was exhibited in the Georgian National Historical Museum. All ten of her works were bought by Museum and were given to the Georgian cultural heritage.
